Тэмдэглэл ба эх сурвалжийн тодруулга (15)›
- SCOPE OF VERIFICATION: The user's premise of '16 салбар' (16 subjects) across 2021-2025 could NOT be confirmed. Thorough research located solid, sourced evidence of Mongolian teams competing in only 8 distinct international subject olympiads within 2021-2025: Mathematics (IMO), Physics (IPhO), Chemistry (IChO), Biology (IBO), Informatics (IOI), Geography (iGeo), the European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO, math but a separate competition/team from IMO), and Economics (IEO). If a '16' figure is accurate it likely counts additional competitions (e.g. regional olympiads, or newer competitions like the AI Olympiad — see below) that this research could not fully verify subject-by-subject for every year, or it double-counts subjects across years. Treat '16' as unverified.
- HIGH CONFIDENCE (official results databases with per-year, per-country breakdowns, cross-checked against Mongolian news coverage): Mathematics (imo-official.org — team totals from embedded JSON on the country results page, individual medalist names from imo-official.org's per-country INDIVIDUAL results page), Physics (ipho-unofficial.org — individual results table with named contestants), Chemistry (icho-official.org — official DB with named contestants for every year), Informatics (stats.ioinformatics.org — official DB with named contestants for every year), and EGMO (egmo.org — official per-country results table with named contestants and per-contestant scores). For every one of these, medal counts AND medalist names were verified together, and the counts of named individuals reconcile exactly with the gold/silver/bronze/HM totals in each row.
- MEDALIST NAMES ADDED (follow-up pass): each results row now carries a 'medalists' array of { name, medal } pairs, populated ONLY where a source actually named individuals — never inferred or invented. Rows with 'medalists': [] mean no named individuals could be found, not that no one won; check the row's numeric fields separately. Names are given exactly as each source presented them (Latin transliteration for imo-official.org/ipho-unofficial.org/icho-official.org/stats.ioinformatics.org/egmo.org/news.num.edu.mn; Mongolian Cyrillic for the montsame.mn 2021 biology article, which was quoted directly in Cyrillic). Note the same or a similar name can legitimately recur across subjects/years (e.g. 'Enerelt Delgerdalai' medaled at both IMO and IOI in different years; 'Amartuvshin Anar' appears in both IChO and IBO 2025) — these were not merged or deduplicated, each is reported as its own source gave it.
- BIOLOGY 2024 UPDATE: previously marked fully 'unknown', this row now has verified data — found by extracting the official 'Ranking of IBO 2024' PDF (IBO Steering Committee, approved 26 Jan 2025) via pdftotext. Mongolia sent 4 contestants: Ireedui Geser (bronze, rank 101) and Misheel Galsanchimed (bronze, rank 103) won medals; Dagvadorj Batbayar (rank 240) and Maral Enkhtur (rank 256) did not medal. Participants=4, gold=0, silver=0, bronze=2, HM=0.
- MEDIUM/LOW CONFIDENCE (news-sourced, partial breakdowns only, no names found despite searching): Biology (IBO) 2022 and 2023 — only the bronze-medal COUNT could be confirmed from Mongolian press summaries (no contestant names located for these two years specifically, unlike 2021/2024/2025); whether additional silver/gold/HM awards also went to other team members those years is UNKNOWN, not assumed zero. Geography (iGeo) — only 2025 could be verified at all (2 participants, 2 bronze, from a multi-subject academic-year summary article that named students in other subjects but not geography); 2021-2024 remain fully unknown. Economics (IEO) — only 2024 verified (1 named medalist, matching the full 1-silver count for that row); other years unknown.
- IMPORTANT CAVEAT ON 'unknown' vs 'zero': fields marked "unknown" (string) mean no source could be found — they must NOT be treated as 0. Do not sum an 'unknown' row into totals without accounting for the gap.
- IChO 2023 detail: one of Mongolia's 4 IChO contestants that year (Erkhesnabil Zanjan) is listed as 'Participant' with no medal on the official results page — intentionally omitted from that row's 'medalists' array (which only lists actual medal winners), while still reflected in participants=4 vs. 3 medals awarded.
- EGMO 2021: Mongolia has no entry at all in the official egmo.org historical results table for 2021 (the table jumps from 2018 straight to 2022), implying Mongolia most likely did NOT send a team to EGMO 2021 (held virtually in Kutaisi, Georgia due to COVID-19). No 2021 row is included in the results array for 'egmo' for this reason, rather than guessing zero-valued fields.
- INFORMATICS DATA CONFLICT (2025): The official IOI results database (stats.ioinformatics.org) shows Mongolia sent 4 contestants to IOI 2025, with 1 bronze medal (Irmuun Chinbat) and no medals for the other 3. However, Mongolian press coverage of the 2024-2025 academic year's combined medal-award ceremony (ikon.mn, news.mn) states Informatics was represented by only '1 student, 1 silver medal.' These two accounts could not be reconciled from available sources. This dataset uses the official IOI database (with Irmuun Chinbat, bronze, as the sole named medalist) as the authoritative figure; the discrepancy is flagged here rather than silently resolved.
- CROSS-CHECK / SANITY CHECK: Summing this dataset's participant counts for math+physics+chemistry+biology+informatics+geography for 2025 gives 6+5+4+2+4+2 = 23, which matches the '23 сурагч' (23 students) total cited by Mongolian press (ikon.mn, news.mn) for medal-winners across the '2024-2025 хичээлийн жил' (2024-2025 academic year, i.e. calendar-year-2025 competitions). This is a good independent corroboration of the overall shape of the 2025 data, despite the informatics-specific conflict noted above.
- SUBJECTS EXPLICITLY EXCLUDED FOR LACK OF 2021-2025 EVIDENCE (do not add without new sourcing): International Linguistics Olympiad (IOL) — Mongolia was confirmed ABSENT from IOL 2025's list of ~42 participating countries/territories (ioling.org), and no evidence of Mongolian IOL participation in any year was found; International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) — Mongolian Wikipedia states Mongolia participated continuously for only 5 years starting in 2005 (i.e. roughly 2005-2009), with no evidence found of participation resuming in 2021-2025; International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) — no evidence found of Mongolia ever fielding a team, despite targeted searches; International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) — the only confirmed Mongolian IESO participation found (19th IESO, Turin, Italy: 1 gold, 2 silver, 4 bronze) took place in August 2026, OUTSIDE the requested 2021-2025 window; no evidence was found of Mongolian IESO participation in 2021-2025 specifically. International Philosophy Olympiad and any 'International Olympiad in Cryptography' — no evidence found of Mongolian participation in either.
- REGIONAL OLYMPIAD NOTED BUT NOT INCLUDED IN RESULTS: the Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO, a regional/continental competition distinct from IPhO) — confirmed Mongolian participation in 2023 (Mongolia hosted APhO in Ulaanbaatar; at least one bronze medal, L. Dulguun) and 2026 (Busan, South Korea; 7 Mongolian students placed), but a reliable full participant/medal count for 2021, 2022, 2024, and 2025 could not be assembled from available sources, and even the 2023 breakdown is incomplete (total team size and full medal split unclear). Excluded from the structured 'results' array to avoid guessing; flagged here for future research. No usable evidence was found for APMO (Asia Pacific Mathematical Olympiad) participation despite Mongolia's math committee (mmo.mn) listing an 'APMO-2027' selection process, since no APMO medal results for Mongolia were located for any year.
- EMERGING COMPETITION NOTED BUT NOT INCLUDED: the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI, first held 2024) — Mongolia has fielded a team every year so far: 2024 (1st IOAI, Burgas, Bulgaria) — team won a silver medal (well-confirmed by 3 independent sources: ikon.mn, mddc.gov.mn [Mongolian Ministry of Digital Development], parliament.mn). 2025 (2nd IOAI, reportedly Beijing) results are CONTRADICTORY across sources found (one report says gold+bronze, another says 2 bronze + 1 special distinction) and could not be reconciled, so no 2025 IOAI row is included. IOAI was not in the task's list of subjects to check and its team-vs-individual medal structure did not cleanly fit this dataset's per-student medal schema, so it is flagged here rather than forced into the results array.
- WEBFETCH RELIABILITY WARNING (methodology note): during research, an AI-summarization fetch of the IMO official results page returned an obviously incorrect figure (a claimed '14 gold medals' out of a 6-person team for 2021). This was caught by re-fetching the page's raw embedded JSON directly instead of trusting the summarized version, which gave the correct 2021 figure (2 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze, 0 HM). Wherever possible, figures AND names in this dataset were verified against raw HTML/JSON from official database pages (or a direct quote, for montsame.mn) rather than AI-generated summaries of those pages; where only a news-summary source was available, that is reflected in the lower confidence noted above.
- '2025' results represent competitions that occurred in calendar year 2025 (per each olympiad's official year), which Mongolian press often refers to collectively as the '2024-2025 хичээлийн жил' (2024-2025 academic year).
